HELP IMPROVE A CHILD'S LIFE
Sponsor the Mighty Redeemer Orphanage ...
The Mighty Redeemer Orphanage is a desperately poor Orphanage in Mombasa in Kenya.
After receiving a heartfelt email from a volunteer who did a
placement there through Travellers Worldwide, we would like to raise
some funds to buy the children in the orphanage some clothing, food,
medicines and anything that will help to improve their daily lives.
This is what María Jesús Alvarez Lorencio from Spain
said:
" Dear Liz and Travellers,
Now in the orphanage are 16 children: two babies, three of one year and a half and the others between 3 and 9 but nobody knows the real age of any of them. They need everything we can give: food, clothes, shoes, mosquito nets, toys... For example during my stay I bought nappies and milk for the little ones. I don't feel capable myself to make a list of things they might need because they don't have anything!
As I told you some of them are sick but I really don't know exactly what kind of illness they have: sometimes you can feel they have temperature or their stomach is not really good or you notice that they are very quiet... The manager told us that two of them have AIDS and maybe there is a third one... I think the real fact is that of most of them are malnourished.
Another problem they have is there isn't enough money to take the children to school and some of them are really eager to learn. Maybe the future volunteers might be teachers, psychologists... because they need stimulation specially the small ones. We did all our best but I think they need more.
